Bravo Uses PANORAMO 360 Scanning Technology for 2 Recent Projects in WA

Bravo Environmental is proud to be among one of the first CCTV inspection companies in the Pacific Northwest to use PANORAMO technology.  Last month, Bravo completed two projects for local municipalities where the PANORAMO 360 degree scanner was required.

The PANORAMO scanner is a specially designed pipe inspection camera system that utilizes dual fish-eyed lenses to snap high-resolution images as it traverses through a pipe, taking snapshots every 2″ along the way, and then rendering an interactive viewer file with the front and rear images to produce a 360 degree “virtual view” as if you’re standing inside the sewer.  The camera unit also traverses incredibly fast, at speeds of up to 70 ft/min without stopping, while still producing data that exceeds NASSCO PACP standards.

The PANORAMO camera was utilized because of the clients’ need for the highest quality condition assessment data, but also due to the fact that both projects involved surveys of interceptor sewer lines with high-flow, and located in remote easements, where standard bypassing methods were too difficult.  PANORAMO, however, enabled the use of “Vactor-bypassing”, where flow from the upstream is temporarily stored in the Vactor truck while the PANORAMO camera quickly scans the dry pipe, a method conventional pan & tilt CCTV equipment does not allow for, due to the requirement to enter inspection observations in real-time.

The PANORAMO data was then coded and assessed after the inspection in the office by Bravo’s in-house NASSCO-certified PACP trainer.
