Root-Cutting

Root intrusion into conveyance pipelines is a major problem throughout the United States. Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSO) are common due to root blockages and are considered a serious environmental problem.

Once roots intrude into the sewer, they are in an ideal environment (warm, wet, and full of fertilizer!), and they tend to grow at alarming rates.

The high water pump rating on our vacuum trucks facilitates the use of a mechanical root cutter which is powered by water pressure. A circular blade, similar to the pipe size, is attached to a motor/jetting nozzle combination. The jetting nozzle propels the rotating blade forward effectivly removing roots as well as grease build up.
