Manhole (MH) Inspection:

Manholes are a large source of inflow and infiltration (I&I) into sanitary sewer systems. Inspection and repair offers one of the most cost effective means of reducing I&I. Bravo performs high quality inspections, customized to meet your reporting needs.

Locating:

Experienced technicians utilize the latest in locating technologies to surface mark buried structures, sewer lateral connections, point failures, utility conflicts, and transmission pipeline depths and locations.

Determining the location of underground utilities using the following methods:

• CCTV cameras with integrated Electronic Locating systems
• Locating beacons (sondes) to depths of 40+ feet
• Inductive and conductive locating

• Smoke-Testing

Smoke-Testing:

Smoke-testing has become a world-wide standard for finding leaks in sewer systems. How? By forcing smoke-filled air through a sewer or plumbing system, leaks can be quickly detected as smoke escapes through problem areas. This method involves pumping smoke through sanitary sewers from utility manholes in streets or within public easements while observing and documenting where smoke exits.

What it determines?

• Exiting smoke can indicate the location of broken pipes, manholes and catch basins.
• Find roof or foundation drains connected to the sewer system.
• Indicating infiltration or inflow might enter the sanitary sewer system.
• Pavement cracks above the sewer, from landscaping above private side sewers.
• Discover homes with foundation drains connected to the sewer.
• Find leaks in basements through unused floor drains
• Disconnected or faulty plumbing fixtures
• Other direct openings to connecting sewers.

Safety: Visibility and odor last only a few minutes with adequate ventilation. This smoke is nontoxic, harmless and creates no fire hazard. Typically, local fire and police authorities are notified, and the inspection team is available at test sites to answer questions during the smoke-testing.

Documentation includes:

• Site Address overlaid on video

Bravo can provide you with a digital photo showing the smoke leaks with the date, time and location. This will make it difficult to dispute data during reviews with property owners.
